BASKETBALL
PROGRAMS FOR AGES 6-15, BOYS & GIRLS TEAMS (based
on your age on September 1, 2007).
When
you join a YMCA Basketball Progam you are saying that you believe
the game is about participation, sportsmanship, character development,
non-violent conflict resolution and healthy habits that build real
sport heroes. Last year the YMCA helped over 7 million children
learn about sports and sportsmanship, supported by this code.
RECREATIONAL
VARSITY PROGRAM
Recreational
Varsity Program (ages 6-15) practices once a week with one game
each Saturday in the YMCA gym. The Varsity program offers a first
introduction in playing the game, as well as coaching opportunities
for youth ages 14 and up. Varsity teams have "placement days"
where all players (registered by deadline) are guaranteed to be
placed on a team. Each team has all ability level of players on
them. There are three seasons each year, spring (Jan - Apr), summer
(May - Aug) and fall (Sept - Dec). All girls teams are formed if
there are enough signups.
